Though Xiaomi phones are all good and provide a good price-to-spec ratio, using MIUI that is full of bloatware and ads, ruins the entire experience. But the latest MIUI 12.5 adds some essential touches to the Xiaomi ROM to make it a better UI.
Notably, as a part of the Mi 11 international launch event, Xiaomi spilled the beans on this new feature that is bundled with MIUI 12.5.
Reportedly, with MIUI 12.5, users could remove uninstallable system apps, giving more space and RAM for other important apps that are extensively used on their phones.
Good thing is that the MIUI 12.5 update is rolling out to the Xiaomi Mi 11 and some other phones. This is good news for every Xiaomi user because it will ultimately help improve system performance and CPU usage.
Further, if the CPU is optimized correctly and used by apps that needfully require it for operation, it will result in longer battery life and smoother animations.
Previously, the rendering of gestures and other system operations was done on a single thread. Resulting in eating up more CPU than needed. With MIUI 12.5, the gestures get a dedicated thread, ensuring no other tasks interfere with them.
Xiaomi plans to roll out MIUI 12.5 to its phones in Q2 2021
According to the official announcement, Xiaomi will start seeding the MIUI 12.5 skin to its devices in Q2 of 2021. The first phones to receive MIUI 12.5 will be the Mi 11, Mi 10T, Mi 10T Pro, Mi 10, and Mi 10 Pro.
After the above-mentioned phones, a second wave will begin rolling out for devices: Mi 10 Lite 5G, Mi 10T Lite, Mi Note 10 Pro, Mi Note 10, Mi Note 10 Lite, Redmi Note 9T, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9S, Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 8 Pro, and Redmi 9.
The remaining devices will get updated with MIUI 12.5 later, for which Xiaomi will announce a dedicated timeline. With the new feature, MIUI 12.5 allows users to keep some of the core apps and uninstall all the other apps that are not needed for the functioning of the phone.
Talking about the Mi 11, it comes with 6.81-inch AMOLED quad-curve WQHD+ DotDisplay with TrueColor. It also comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate. The front camera has a 20MP sensor.
Xiaomi Mi 11 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. It comes in two variants 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. There is a triple camera setup with a 108MP primary lens, 13MP ultra wide-angle camera, and 5MP macro lens.
Under the hood, it comes with a 4,600 mAh battery that comes with 55W fast charging support. Moreover, it comes with 50W wireless and 10W reverse charging.
