Razer's New Dock Is A Pricey Connectivity Hub With Flashy Lights

Razer is introducing two new accessories today to enhance your gaming setup at home, including a new thunderbolt 4 dock and a new laptop stand for its Blade laptop line.

Both accessories come with an array of ports and various features. Namely Chroma. Which shines from the underside of each like an RGB beacon lighting the way towards immersive gaming freedom. Both accessories are also fairly pricey, as many Razer products are, but the Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock certainly takes the cake here.

That being said, Razer is promising quite a bit with this new device. And it may yet be something that many gamers will feel they need.

Razer’s new Thunderbolt 4 Dock is a Chroma-powered connectivity hub

If your gaming setup is missing a large collection of connectivity ports, this dock can fill that role. More to the point is that Razer wants this to be the “centerpiece” of your setup.

That’s why it has Chroma lighting around the base of it and that’s why everything is fairly accessible. To start, there’s a 3.5mm audio port on the front alongside an SD card reader, and one of the many Thunderbolt 4 ports.

The rest of the Thunderbolt 4 ports for the dock Razer had installed on the back. There’s also three USB-A ports and an ethernet port back there if you need them. Razer says the Thunderbolt 4 ports can support up to two 4K monitors or one 8K monitor. As well as charge various devices that use USB-C.

You can already grab the new Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock at the Razer website if this is a device you want to add to your setup. Though, it will cost you. Since it retails for $330. That being said, the pre-orders are already out of stock. So you’ll have to sign up to be notified when more arrive.

The updated laptop stand comes with more ports

The second new product Razer launched today is the Razer Laptop Stand V2 Chroma. Visually there isn’t really much of a change from the previous model.

It still features the same matte black color as the others,  and like the V1, it has Chroma around the base. Something which the very first model of the stand did not have. As for the ports, there are now five ports on the back instead of three.

Razer has also changed what some of the ports are. Instead of three USB-A ports like on the back of the original Chroma Laptop Stand, there are two. To that Razer added an HDMI port and two USB-C ports. One of those USB-C ports can even be used to deliver power to the connected laptop if needed.

Razer is charging $150 for the new stand, and it’s currently only selling it through the Razer website just like the Thunderbolt 4 Dock. The stand is also only available for pre-order and is also out of stock already. Razer says it’s online and retail stores will have a two-week exclusivity on both products, which will then go to retail partners shortly after.
