Samsung has unveiled a smartphone with a 7,000mAh battery, though chances are you won’t be able to buy it. Why? Well, the phone got announced in India. It may arrive to other markets under a different name, though.
The Samsung Galaxy F62 features a 7,000mAh battery
This particular variant is called the Samsung Galaxy F62. That device got teased by Samsung quite recently, and it’s not official. That 7,000mAh battery sure is its main selling point, but it seems like a solid device through and through.
Let’s talk about the design first. The phone is probably made out of plastic, though we can’t confirm that. There are four cameras included on its back, below which lies an LED flash. The phone does have rather thin bezels, a flat display, and a centered display camera hole.
A large Super AMOLED display is included
This handset comes with a 6.7-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) fullHD+ Infinity-O Super AMOLED Plus display. It is fueled by the Exynos 9825 SoC from Samsung, and it supports 4G LTE with VoLTE.
The phone comes in 6 GB and 8 GB (LPDDR4X) RAM variants, with 128 GB of internal storage (UFS 2.1). You can expand its storage via a microSD card up to 1 TB. There are two SIM card slots here, and a separate microSD card slot.
Android 11 comes pre-installed on the device, along with One UI 3.1 skin. A 7,000mAh battery is included, and the device supports 25W fast charging. Wireless charging is not included.
There are four cameras included on the device’s back
A 64-megapixel main camera (Sony’s IMX682 sensor, f/1.8 aperture) sits on the back, along with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera (f/2.2 aperture, 123-degree FoV). A 5-megapixel depth sensor (f/2.2 aperture) is also located there, along with a 5-megapixel macro camera (f/2.4 aperture).
A 32-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.2 aperture) is also included, by the way, as is a 3.5mm headphone jack. This phone does have Dolby Atmos support, and it comes with a Type-C USB port and Bluetooth 5.
The phone measures 163.9 x 76.3 x 9.5mm, and weighs 218 grams. The Galaxy F62 launched in Laser Green, Laser Blue, and Laser Gray color variants. The 6 GB RAM variant costs INR23,999 ($330), while the 8 GB RAM model is priced at INR25,999 ($358).
