Samsung Galaxy M02 Launched As Rebranded Galaxy A02

India is one of the biggest smartphone markets in the world. To continue its dominance in the region, Samsung has launched yet another smartphone called the Galaxy M02, which is nothing but a rebranded Galaxy A02.

Samsung has a lot of smartphones that are specifically tailored to suit the needs of its Indian users. Samsung Galaxy M02 is another smartphone that is launched to target the entry-level segment in the country.

The Galaxy M02 has a lot of features that have become a staple for entry-level smartphones. It offers a huge infinity-V display, a huge battery, dual-camera setup, etc.

Getting into the details, the device sports a massive 6.5-inch Infinity-V HD+ 1600 x 720 pixels resolution display. It is a TFT LCD panel. Under the hood, the device is juiced by a 5,000 mAh battery, which would easily last you a day or two, depending on your usage.

The Samsung Galaxy M02 comes in 2 or 3GB RAM options with 32GB of onboard storage. Talking about the processor, it is powered by the MediaTek MT6739W processor.

With that processor, don’t expect the performance of Galaxy M02 to blow your mind. However, it should be sufficient enough to provide a lag-free experience.

Samsung Galaxy M02 ships with Android 10

At the rear, the phone packs a dual-camera setup. There is a 13MP (wide) + 2MP (macro) lens housed in a vertical camera module. For selfies, the Galaxy M02 packs a 5MP lens.

The phone will be available for purchase via Amazon India and also from Samsung India’s official website beginning from February 9. The introductory price is INR6,799 (approximately $93).

Though the phone is coming out in the second month of 2021, it comes with Android 10 One UI 2.0 out of the box, which is kind of a letdown.

Moreover, there is no hope that Samsung would even upgrade this phone to Android 11 One UI 3.0, considering the price and the specs of the product.

Other features of the device include dual-SIM, 4G, VoLTE, single-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GNSS (GPS, GLONASS), grip sensor, accelerometer, and proximity sensor.

Fortunately, it comes with a dedicated microSD card slot that supports up to 1TB storage. There is the good-ol’ 3.5mm headphone jack with a MicroUSB port at the bottom of the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy M02 is made of polycarbonate with a grippy pattern. There are some interesting colors that this device will come in. Specifically, there are four colors, namely Denim Black, Denim Blue, Denim Gray, and Denim Red to choose from.
