Earlier this year Nintendo announced that it would be releasing a new Switch console themed after its most iconic character, Super Mario. And that it would be available on February 12.
Today is that day, which means you can now get your hands on the new Super Mario Switch for the reasonable price of $299.
The Nintendo Switch Mario Red & Blue Edition as it’s officially called, comes with a couple of extra goodies. While the normal Switch, the one that comes with either the gray or neon red and blue controllers, only comes with the console, dock, and two Joy-Con controllers, the Mario Red & Blue Edition comes with that and more.
The new Super Mario Nintendo Switch comes with a case
Nintendo is packing this edition with all you need to make the Switch a great home and portable console. Because it includes a case at no extra charge.
The case, like the console, dock, and controller, is themed with the signature Super Mario red and blue. It even comes with accented yellow zippers. There’s a free screen protector included as well so you can keep the display nice and safe from scratches.
The cases and screen protectors for the Switch don’t cost much by themselves, but why spend extra money when you don’t have to? Plus you end up with a unique looking Nintendo Switch. It’s more or less a win-win.
This isn’t the first themed Switch Nintendo has ever released, and it likely won’t be the last. It’s also worth noting that this isn’t a limited edition model, so stock isn’t likely to run out completely and never replenish. However, that doesn’t mean that stock won’t run low and that it won’t be hard to get a hold of.
The Nintendo Switch has been a challenge to find at retailers just like the PS5 and Xbox Series X. No matter which color it was. So if you’re still looking for a Switch, and you like this version, don’t wait too long to snag it.
Now is a great time to pick up the console
If you think about it, now is a great time to consider a Nintendo Switch, especially this model, as Nintendo just released Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury today. Best Buy even has a bundle that comes with the console and the game for $360 so you get everything all in one package.
The console seems to be available from Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H. So you shouldn’t have trouble getting one this early on.
