Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S10 In The US Picks Up Android 11

Samsung is on a roll delivering the latest Android 11 updates to its devices. The latest device to pick up the Android 11 One UI 3.0 update is the unlocked Galaxy S10 in the US.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 series in Europe has already bagged the update back in January. Now, the update is live for users in the USA using the unlocked variant. This also means that unlocked units should also receive the Android 11 update soon.

A point to note here is it took almost a month and a half before the US Galaxy S10 series units are picking up the Android 11 update compared to European models.

This delay is due to the fact Samsung had to pull the Android 11 initial release for the Galaxy S10 series, because of some unknown reasons. Fortunately, it is now rolling out for users in the US.

Moreover, it seems like Samsung managed to fix the “unknown issue” which caused this delay. The Galaxy S10 series owners in the US now can finally experience the taste of Android 11.

We assume that the new update brings the latest February 2021 security update, which Samsung has been bundling with the Android 11 update for other devices.

Samsung Galaxy S10 series Android 11 update arrives with firmware version G97xU1UEU4FUA4

According to a report by Sammobile, the Galaxy S10 series owners in the US are picking up the update with firmware version G97xU1UEU4FUA4. The size of the update is unknown.

However, we would advise the Galaxy S10 users in the US to download the update on a stable Wi-Fi network, since it brings all the goodies of Android 11 and One UI 3.0.

As far as features are concerned, users will be able to experience Android 11 stock features along with Samsung-specific features. This includes Quick Settings toggle, notification bubbles, redesigned volume controls, revamped home screen design, new icons, video enhancer, improved privacy and security controls, etc.

If you are in the US and own a Galaxy S10 series device and have not yet received the One UI 3.0 stable update, then you can manually check for it.

Simply head over to “Settings.” Then navigate to “System updates.” From there, tap the “Download and install” option. Your phone will then start checking for the new update.

You can proceed with downloading and installation of the update on your phone if a new update is detected. Importantly, it may be possible that the update won’t be available straight away for everyone. So, you need to wait for the rollout to expand for more users.
