The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is expected to arrive at some point this year, and a new concept design just appeared. Many would say that this concept design looks excellent, though the real thing will look considerably different.
This design got shared by Ice Universe, a well-known tipster. He shared two images in his tweet, both of them showing the device from the front. As you can see, this phone offers a boxy design, which no bezels, essentially.
This Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 concept comes with almost no bezels, and no display camera holes
The black bars around the display are seemingly less than a millimeter thick, while the frame is also extremely thin. The phone does not feature a display camera hole, or anything of the sort. The designer probably envisioned an under-display camera for the device.
It also features curved display corners, but only barely. A Type-C USB port is placed at the bottom, and it’s surrounded by speaker grills. On the right side, you’ll notice a power / lock button, and volume rocker buttons above it.
It’s too bad the back side of this design isn’t shown. We’re really not sure what materials the designer envisioned for the phone either, but it looks great in the white color.
A new Mi MIX smartphone is coming at some point this year
A couple of days ago, Xiaomi’s executive confirmed that a new Mi MIX smartphone is coming this year. He did not say if it will be called the Mi MIX 4, or when will it launch, though. We’re guessing it’s coming in the second half of the year, though.
We’re not really sure what it will bring to the table, but Xiaomi did announce a portless device recently. That device also offers a ‘Waterfall Display’ that is curved on all four sides. So, some of those elements may get included.
Rumors are suggesting that the device will include an under-display camera as well, which is possible. It will almost certainly ship with the Snapdragon 888 SoC, and other high-end internals.
Xiaomi is also expected to launch several foldable smartphones this year, though nothing has been confirmed just yet.
