Genshin Impact 1.6 Drops Soon Featuring Character Skins & More

Genshin Impact is close to getting a long awaited feature with its newest update, as miHoYo prepares to introduce character skins. The update lands more in the beginning of next month and will add more than just skins to the game. Including a new playable character from Inazuma, a new Summer beach-themed event, a new boss fight and more.

The update, called Midsummer Island Adventure, will bring the game to version 1.6. It’s also planned to launch globally on June 9. So players across all platforms only have a couple more weeks to wait.

As part of the theme of the update revolves around Summer beach vibes, players will also get to participate in a series of events on the water. All-in-all it sounds like players will have a lot to dive into when the update arrives. And for the biggest fans of the game that probably can’t come soon enough.

Genshin Impact adds character skins for Jean and Barbara

While Genshin Impact prepares to add character skins, update 1.6 will only be adding two. One for Jean and one for Barbara. To get both of these players will need to split their efforts.

As you will need to buy the outfit for Jean from the in-game shop. Meanwhile Barbara’s outfit can be obtained for free by participating in event-related quests. Worth noting is that for a limited time, the Jean outfit will be discounted. So if you plan to pick it up at all it’ll cost the least if you grab it as early as possible.

The game’s new playable character is a powerful 5-star samurai

Not all playable characters are created equal. Even some of the 5-star characters from earlier updates aren’t as good as others. From the sounds of things though it seems like the new character from update 1.6 is going to be a strong one to have on your team.

Kaedehara Kazuha is a samurai, and is the first playable character from the Inazuma region. Some of his main benefits include crowd control of enemies and team buffs. But he also has the capability to deal Anemo damage. On top of that, when players face enemies from Cryo, Hydro, Pyro, or Electro elemental damage types, Kazuha’s Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst can deal even more damage.

He can also provide elemental damage bonuses to his teammates. Basically, you’re going to want this character. So you might want to start saving up the currency for some wish pulls. In addition to all these new details about the upcoming content patch, miHoYo has also shared new concept art of Inazuma.
