A major Android 12 leak struck over the weekend, as Jon Prosser shared design changes that the OS will bring forth. The tipster not only shared some images of new widgets and design elements, but an actual video of them in action.
He seems to have managed to get ahold of some official Google I/O footage. As a reminder, Google I/O aka Google’s Developers Conference will kick off tomorrow, and will be ongoing until May 20. Google is hosting Google I/O in a virtual form this time around, due to the pandemic. The keynote will take place on May 18 at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PST / 7 PM CET / 6 PM BST.
Major Android 12 leak lands to show us new design changes
That being said, if you take a look at the image below, you’ll see some new widgets and UI elements. These have been shared via Jon Prosser’s Front Page Tech YouTube channel. The video is embedded below the article.
This leak basically shares some new design elements, and also shows you how the animations will work. Android 12 will be a more considerable design change to Android than the previous couple of iterations were.
The first thing that Jon Prosser talked about is the new music widget that will sit in the notifications bar. You can also see the redesigned Wi-Fi and Bluetooth toggles in the image provided above.
The new volume slider is also visible, and the same goes for redesigned notifications, a new clock widget, and a new weather widget. These elements do look really polished and flat, and do give out a whole new feel.
Android 12 will heavily focus on a new user interface
Jon Prosser says that Android 12 will focus heavily on the introduction of a new user interface. That much is visible from all the leaks we’ve seen thus far.
Now, the promo content that Mr. Prosser showed us in his YouTube video, shares even more information. That video shows notification grouping, as you’ll be able to group notifications across different apps even. You can also see some new animations in that video, and more.
Google released three Android 12 Developer Previews thus far, and if you’d like to know more, check out our Android 12 page.
