Back in June of last year, TiMi Studios shared details of an upcoming Metal Slug Mobile game it was developing, and now it looks like the game has reached its beta stage. TiMi is the same studio behind smash hits like Call Of Duty: Mobile.
Today the team at TiMi shared beta footage of Metal Slug Mobile via a new gameplay trailer. The video was uploaded to the TiMi Studio YouTube page back on May 14, but it’s unlisted. So it isn’t visible to the public through a normal search. You can however view the video below to see how things are coming along.
Metal Slug Mobile is still currently in development. And right now there is no official title for the game. At least not one that TiMi Studios has shared. This is also an officially licensed game by SNK. Which means SNK is involved with its development to some degree.
The Metal Slug Mobile beta is not something players can participate in
While we’re referring to this game as in a beta stage at this point, it’s not a beta that players can take part in. At least not right now. TiMi may have a closed or open beta (or both) at some point in the future. It has not yet announced one though.
But the game is still in beta internally, as the video states that the footage in it is beta footage. And that it’s not representative of the final quality. With that being said, it bodes well for the game. Because it already looks pretty good. Which likely suggests that the final quality of the game once released, will be even better than it is now.
The game will feature a progression system that encourages exploration and collection
Although there’s still no release date for the game, TiMi has shared some information about the gameplay. For starters, it will have a progression system that TiMi says encourages players to explore the game and collect stuff. What kind of stuff? Who knows. But probably items, achievements and other things.
This also suggests that even though it’ll most likely be free-to-play, leveling up and unlocking new stuff within the game will be easy for most players. As long as they put some time into playing. Hopefully that also means it won’t be too heavy-handed on the micro transactions.
Metal Slug Mobile will also feature multiple game modes. Including tough as nails boss fights that players may find to be a little bit challenging from time to time.
