Microsoft’s Build 2021 conference kicked off, and some interesting news got revealed from the get-go. Microsoft is working on the “next generation of Windows”, said the company’s CEO, Satya Nadella.
The company’s keynote was quite brief, and this is probably the major takeaway from it. The thing is, Microsoft didn’t really focus on Windows during its keynote, at all. It barely mentioned the OS.
Microsoft is expected to present the “next generation of Windows” in June
There’s a good reason for it. The company is planning to host a major Windows event in June, so it probably didn’t want to reveal anything ahead of time. It will be showing off a major overhaul of the OS during the event, it seems.
Mr. Nadella said that “Windows is implicit”, while adding that the OS has “never been more important”. Microsoft’s OS is used by over 1.3 billion people worldwide, so the company has great responsibility.
The company’s CEO said that Microsoft will soon share “the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade”. He also added that he’s “incredibly excited about the next generation of Windows”.
Based on Satya Nadella’s words, we’re in for a treat. Microsoft apparently plans to present a major Windows overhaul, and that will be interesting to see. There are, arguably, plenty of things to improve in the OS, so it will be interesting to see what will Microsoft deliver.
Windows 10 is really good at this point, but there’s room for improvement
Windows 10 works great, but there’s always room for improvement. For example, the UI could use some work, the updates system could as well, and so on. There are plenty of such examples so that the OS catches up to the competition, in those areas.
It remains to be seen whether the OS will keep the “Windows 10” name, or will Microsoft move from it after so many years. Stay tuned, big things are coming when it comes to Windows, and we’re pretty excited to see what will Microsoft show off.
