The OnePlus Nord 2 name has just been confirmed by the company itself. OnePlus confirmed the phone’s name in the FAQ section of a new Stadia Premiere Edition promo that is running in France, Germany, and the UK.
The OnePlus Nord 2 name has been confirmed by the company itself
If you take a look at the image below, you’ll see the “How to participate?” section of the FAQ. In it, you’ll see some smartphones being mentioned, and the “OnePlus Nord2” is amongst them. Now, the name of the phone will likely be the OnePlus Nord 2, though, not “Nord2”.
The “OnePlus 9Pro” is also mentioned, while its name is the OnePlus 9 Pro, not “9Pro”. So… the second-gen Nord will probably have a separate number from the letters in its name.
That being said, this promo runs until September 30. Considering that the Nord 2 is mentioned, it means it will be included, which means it has to be announced by then. So, we know the launch timeframe for the phone as well.
The OnePlus Nord 2 will be announced before September 30. That doesn’t really reveal the exact launch date of the phone, but it’s at least something. Chances are the phone will launch way before September 30, though.
The original ‘Nord’ arrived on July 21
The original OnePlus Nord got announced back on July 21 last year. Chances are that the Nord 2 will also arrive in July or August at the latest. We’re only guessing, though, of course.
Not many OnePlus Nord 2 leaks surfaced, but some information did appear thus far. It is almost certain that the device will be fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC, MediaTek’s most powerful processor.
This will be the company’s very first smartphone to ship with a non-Qualcomm SoC. Every single smartphone OnePlus released thus far was fueled by a Snapdragon processor.
The phone will likely include a fullHD+ display with a high refresh rate, and that panel will be flat. Plenty of RAM and storage is expected, and the Nord 2 will probably be made out of metal and glass.
