Roborock has just announced its second cordless stick vacuum, the H7. And it actually has a surprise that you likely didn’t expect to see on a cordless stick vacuum.
There’s an option mopping attachment for the H7 that you would need to buy separately. But it would allow you to vacuum and mop with the same product. Much like its robot vacuums. This is not the first cordless stick vacuum to offer this feature, but it is still a rarity.
Currently, there’s no word on when the mopping attachment will be available, nor the price for it. But it is one of a handful of attachments that you can buy to go along with the H7.
What else is new with the Roborock H7 cordless stick vacuum?
It is a tiny bit heavier this time around, coming in at 3.2lbs, whereas the H6 was 3.09lbs. This is likely due to the larger dustbin that is included here. It’s a 500mL dustbin versus the 400mL on the H6. Allowing you to clean longer before needing to empty the dustbin.
Perhaps more important than the dustbin, is the suction power. Which is now rated at 160AW, from the 140AW available on the H6. Which was already really impressive.
Meanwhile, Roborock was able to keep the battery life relatively the same. It’s still rated at 90 minutes in eco-mode. With 45 minutes in normal and 8 minutes in max mode. The Max suction number is down slightly from 10 minutes. This is likely due to the fact that the motor is larger and suction is also increased. As this isn’t so much that the battery will die after 10 minutes, but the vacuum can’t handle longer than that, at least on the H6. So we’d expect the same on the H7.
Roborock kept the same 1.3-inch OLED display on the H7. Which is a really useful feature actually. It allows you to see how much time is left on the battery, as well as what mode you’re in, and whether it is locked or not. It’s a small feature, but very useful.
Also new here, is the disposable dust bags. Roborock is including them in the box, and allow you to empty the dustbin easier, without spraying dust everywhere, or spilling it on your newly cleaned floors. It’s not required to use them, but a nice addition. There is also HEPA filtration included, which can capture 99.99% of particles that are as small as 0.3 microns. That includes pollen and fungi.
Of course, we can’t forget about that new dock for the H7. It now uses magnets to keep the attachments connected. This means that it is horizontally much shorter, so it can take up less space. And allowing it to be placed in a corner, out of the way.
When can I buy the Roborock H7
Roborock says that the H7 will be available in July 2021 for the US. And it’ll cost $499.
That is a $50 increase from the H6, however given the huge number of improvements with the H7, it’s worth that higher price tag.
