Streaming giant Spotify is adding some cool new features for both Android and iPhone app. According to the official blog, Spotify is adding automatic transcriptions, app buttons with new colors and formatting, etc.
Recently, Apple Music received a lossless audio feature. And for those who do not know, lossless audio means it will keep every single bit of detail from the original recording. However, the size of the audio file will be considerably less.
Cut to now, the Swedish music-streaming giant has brought in some features that will help users with physical impairments. For instance, the new format and colors of the app buttons can help visually impaired people to see the app buttons more easily.
Moreover, the Spotify automatic transcriptions will make it possible for hearing-impaired people to enjoy podcasts by reading the text. Users can also quickly jump over to a specific point of the podcast by simply tapping on the word.
On top of this, Spotify is also adding the option to increase the text size beyond the phone’s limit. Again, this feature will come in handy for visually impaired users.
The Spotify automatic podcast translation feature is in the beta stage
Notably, as noted by Spotify in the official blog, the automatic translation feature is currently in the beta stage. It will only work with Spotify’s “Original and Exclusive” podcasts right now.
The good thing is the company will eventually bring this feature available for all podcasts featuring on the Spotify app in the future.
With the help of text formatting from all caps, provides more space for translation for more than 60 languages. You can change the text size on Spotify by heading over to Settings >> Accessibility.
Then select Display & Text Size. From here, select Larger Text for larger font options. You can make use of the slider to increase or decrease the font size as per your need.
Do note that increasing the font size way too much may interfere with other buttons on the screen. All these features will not arrive in a single update for the Spotify app.
Spotify made it clear that these features are three separate updates, and will be pushed for the mobile app in the coming weeks on both Android and iPhone.
This popular music streaming app is asking users, especially those with disabilities, to provide feedback on these changes. It will help Spotify to fine-tune the new features.
