Android 11 Rolls Out To Galaxy Tab A With S Pen

Samsung has started to roll out the Android 11 for its Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) with S Pen. The users in Chile and the Philippines are among the first users that are receiving the update. However, other device owners around the world are expected to receive the latest version of Android in the coming weeks.

The firmware version is P205DXU5CUE3, and it also includes One UI Core 3.1 for a refurbished user experience. The new version of Samsung UI brings some changes to the menus, adds Google Discover to the home screen, and it has a bunch of new features for video calling. The One UI Core 3.1 also brings new features and improvements to the device’s camera.

The update package weighs 1.6GB. Moreover, the May 2021 security patch will install on your device after updating.

Other changes and improvements include one-time permissions, chat bubbles, auto permissions reset, and a new design for the Device Care page. Some enhancements for stock apps, Samsung Internet and Keyboard, Parental Controls, and Digital Wellbeing are also included in the package.

If you own a Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019), you probably have to deal with the fact that this is the latest update to be released for this device. Samsung has previously rolled out Android 10 with One UI Core 2.0 for it, and Android 11 is the last one.

Performance improvements usually accompany Samsung updates for its devices. In this update, Samsung claims to have improved the performance of the Galaxy Tab A With S Pen. That improvement occurs through restricting background activities and enhanced dynamic memory allocation.

Moreover, in the new update, some features and disabled, and Samsung haven’t mentioned any reason. Disabled features are connect to Chromecast via Smart View, file sharing via Wi-Fi Direct, and access SD card files directly via Dual Messenger apps.

To date, Samsung has released the Android 11 update for many of its devices. We do not yet know which other devices are in the queue to receive the update. Of course, it’s evident that high-end and flagship devices have a better chance of receiving future updates.
