OnePlus is now taking the cost of a 5G handset in North America even lower, with the introduction of the Nord N200 5G to the region. The new 5G-ready handset starts out at under $250 — under $320 in Canada. But it doesn’t necessarily skimp on the power either. Instead, it builds on the company’s history of flagship-killing smartphones. Including its predecessors, the OnePlus Nord N10 5G and OnePlus Nord N100.
OnePlus Nord N200 5G is a phone designed to get the job done on several fronts
The OnePlus Nord N200 5G is powered by a moderate Snapdragon 480 5G chipset. That’s backed by 4G RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. So, while it isn’t weak by any stretch, it isn’t the most powerful either. Although, it should still run just about any app or game without too much in the way of complaints.
Conversely, that’s driving the latest version of Android via a 5,000mAh capacity battery. So it should easily last all but the most battery-intensive buyers all day long. And it delivers that to end-users via a crystal clear Full HD+ display at 6.49-inches and at 90Hz on the refresh rate. Putting it well above what many other devices in its price bracket have to offer. Despite being built for the budget end of the spectrum.
The biggest benefit to its chipset, of course, is the availability of 5G connectivity. Offering more stable connections and faster data rates at an enviable price. Just like its predecessors.
Around the back of the new “Blue Quantum”-colored handset, OnePlus has embedded a triple camera system. That’s led by a 13-megapixel main sensor that OnePlus claims delivers excellent color accuracy in both day and nighttime settings. Around the front, embedded in a minuscule punch-hole, OnePlus includes a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.
Pricing and availability
In terms of pricing and availability, the OnePlus Nord N200 5G will become available in the North American region starting on June 25. The company has specified that it will be available direct from the OnePlus website at 11 AM Eastern Time. It will also be available in the US, more specifically, at T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile. As well as at Best Buy, Amazon, and B&H Photo.
Regardless of where the handset is purchased, however, it will start out at just $239.99 in the US and $319.99 in Canada.
