This Is What Samsung's Tri-Fold Tablet Could Look Like

Samsung is allegedly working on a tri-fold tablet. That’s something we knew for a while now, and the company has patented some new designs, showing us what its tri-fold tablet could look like.

Design patents show us what Samsung’s tri-fold tablet could look like

These design patents appeared on both WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) and USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office). This is not the first time Samsung patented something like this, but these designs could be the closest to the one the company will use.

If you take a look at the image below this paragraph, you’ll see some sketches that got published. You’ll notice that the device has two hinges, as its display folds in two spots.

There are two different designs shown here. One shows the inward-folding device, while the other shows us the outward-folding one. Both of these variants do come with an S Pen stylus, which is also shown.

The thing is, the S Pen can be magnetically attached to the side on the inward-folding variant. When it comes to the outward-folding one, the s Pen magnetizes on the back of the device, in-between two pieces of the display (when folded).

You’ll notice a pill-shaped display camera hole here

This is a rather interesting approach by Samsung. You’ll also notice that a pill-shaped display camera hole is included here. That is rather interesting considering that the company is expected to use an under-display camera on the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Now, in order to bring these sketches to life, Letsgodigital partnered up with a design creator. If you take a look at the gallery below this paragraph, you’ll get to see some renders created by Sarang Sheth from Yanko Design.

Do note that these renders are based on the leaked sketches, but they’re only third-party renders. These are not leaks or anything of the sort, and the final product will look different.

We’re still not sure when will Samsung announce its first tri-fold device. That device could be called the ‘Galaxy Z Fold Tab’, though, which does make sense.
