The Samsung W22 5G is a different take on the Galaxy Z Fold 3, kind of. This smartphone is going to launch as a Chinese version of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and it will be a bit different. Some design changes will be introduced, along with some other tidbits.
The Samsung W22 5G will be slightly different than the Galaxy Z Fold 3
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 launched as the Samsung W21 5G in China (shown above the article), and the Samsung W22 5G will follow suit. The Samsung W21 5G did introduce some differences in comparison to the Galaxy Z Fold 2, and the Samsung W22 5G will do the same.
From the design standpoint, it looks different. It will feature vertical stripes and a gold finish. It will also be considerably taller than the Galaxy Z Fold 3, states SamMobile.
The source claims that this smartphone comes with the SM-W2022 model number, and it will be available in China only. It will also come in a black color variant with 512GB of storage.
Most of its specifications are said to be the same, but there could be some differences. Previous devices had two SIM card slots, and this model will probably follow suit in that regard.
Now, the Samsung W21 5G was available exclusively through China Telecom, and it was considerably more expensive than the Galaxy Z Fold 2. That difference was huge, actually. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 cost $1,999, while the Samsung W21 5G launched at CNY20,000 ($3,000).

The Samsung W22 5G is expected to cost more than the Galaxy Z Fold 3 as well. It is also possible that it will be available via China Telecom exclusively, but we’ll see.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to launch in early August, and the Samsung W22 5G will follow suit. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 3, another foldable handset. The Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 smartwatches are also expected to drop, during the same event.
