It is safe to say, Spotify is the numero uno choice for high-quality music streaming. However, in a recent development, this popular music-streaming service is plagued with a bug that hides the downloaded playlists for offline playback.
This Spotify Android playlist bug is apparently affecting the Android users of Spotify. Spotify has been around since 2006, and it has had its fair of dealing with bugs on all major platforms it operates on.
To give you some numbers, Spotify has over 150 million paid subscribers and over 350 million active users across the globe. Now, several users have reported this new Spotify bug.
These reports claim that the new playlist bug prevents Spotify for Android users to view their downloaded playlists in the library. Since the issue is affecting Android users, it is widespread. And a fix is required on a large scale.
Digging in deep, and as per 9to5Google, the latest version of Spotify for Android is triggering this new bug on the app. The good thing is that Spotify has officially replied to some users acknowledging the issue.
Spotify is working on a fix for this Android playlist bug and a new update will roll out soon
As we write this post, the team of Spotify is working on a fix for this issue on Android and a new update will roll out for users pretty soon. Though it is not clear whether the update will arrive separately or as a server-side push.
There is no ETA for the said fix and the above statement is based on speculations. So, Spotify for Android users might have to wait for a bit to get a fix for this issue. If you are suffering from the same issue, then we would advise you to wait for the bug fix or use the app as it is.
Since this issue is affecting only users who wish to listen to their playlist’s music offline, you can still continue to listen to your favorite track online until the fix arrives.
We hope that Spotify developers are working on the said issue faster and users will soon be able to download the playlists to listen to their favorite music offline.
In the meantime, 9To5Google suggests there is just a single fix for this. It is to manually search for playlists that you have downloaded. As you cannot access them through the tab. Moreover, recently played playlists will also appear on the home tab.
@SpotifyUK your new android update makes 0 sense, the layout of albums mixed with playlists is just confusing and apparently downloading playlists hides them from the library.
