The Vivaldi browser has released its new version that adds email, calendar, and an RSS reader as some built-in tools. These features are still in the beta stage but are quite practical for users and provide an easy access to essential services.
The first one is Vivaldi Mail, a conventional mailing service, and the company likes to call it “a fully loaded alternative to Big Tech.” Vivaldi has focused on privacy-driven features for its mailing service, and it also helps to stay organized.
Vivaldi claims that all email operations are carried out on the user’s computer rather than a webmail server that may limit the flexibility.
Another good feature of Vivaldi Mail is that you can access all of your email accounts in one place. It supports IMAP and POP3 for better integration. Moreover, the organizing features are handy for time saving and handling a large volume of emails. Vivaldi Mail is just available on the desktop.
Vivaldi Feed Reader for news enthusiasts
Another new feature in the Vivaldi browser is a feed reader that the company claims can protect your privacy. Through the Vivaldi Feed Reader, you can directly access the news from the website you choose, and there is no promoted content.
The Vivaldi Feed Reader can also integrate with YouTube. So users can subscribe to their favorite channels and add them to their feed in Vivaldi. You can also add podcasts to the feed. The feed reader is available to desktop users for now, but it may expand to Android in the future.
Vivaldi Calendar for a better management
Vivaldi claims other calendars made by Big Tech are collecting user’s data. The Vivaldi Calendar comes with some useful features like choosing between private or shared modes, different views, and some other cool stuff. The calendar doesn’t offer anything new compared to other similar services in the market, but the company claims it doesn’t collect your data.
As for the new update, Vivaldi has added a built-in translation feature. So you can choose to translate the webpage to 50 supported languages and soon to 109 languages. You can also find translation in the Vivaldi Android app.
If you don’t need any of these features, Vivaldi has provided an option for disabling them. Through three layouts, users can choose their favorite view. One is the Vivaldi browser with some essential tools, one is the classic mode with the primary features, and the last one is fully loaded with email, calendar, and an RSS reader.
