Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is official and, at least via Samsung’s own website, already sold out, at least for those who wanted the Phantom Green coloration. That’s according to Android Police, reporting on the sale out even as Samsung was still announcing products at Unpacked 2021.
What’s still available?
As of this writing, this means that only the Phantom Black and Phantom Silver variants are still available.
There is, however, a good chance that won’t remain the case for too much longer. Especially if buyers buy the other two colorations as quickly as the Phantom Green configuration. Samsung hasn’t detailed whether or not there is more stock for the black and silver variants than the green. But it is equally likely that there is a shortage driven, at least in part, by the ongoing global chip shortage.
In the interim, users who aren’t feeling quite so picky about the foldable handset but really want a Phantom Green phone can still buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. That also ships in Cream, Black, and Lavender, with White Pink, and Gray coming to Samsung’s site exclusively later on.
Those who are intent on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, conversely, may not want to wait much longer to order.
Will more Phantom Green Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 handsets become available soon?
Now, Samsung has not changed the expected arrival or ship dates. And that holds for any of the three color configurations.
That likely means that more units will become available prior to the official ship date. Or, at the very least, that Samsung doesn’t expect to stay out of stock through to the shipping date. Which is itself set for August 27. But for the time being, there’s no telling when the Phantom Green model of the Samsung Galazy Z Fold 3 will become available again, now that pre-orders for that version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 are sold out.
