You Can Watch Thursday Night Football In 4K

This year, Thursday Night Football games will be broadcast in 4K. And you’ll be able to watch it in 4K on FuboTV, YouTube TV and the Fox App.

This happens after the NFL Network exclusive part of the schedule is over with. So starting with week 5, where the Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks play, you’ll be able to watch in 4K glory. That week, the games also move over to Fox, Amazon Prime Video and Twitch, as well as being broadcast on the NFL Network.

You’ll be able to watch it in 4K from the Fox Sports and Fox Now app, as well as Fubo TV and YouTube TV. However, YouTube TV requires an add-on package to watch it in 4K. That is the 4K Plus package which is an additional $20 per month, and also includes offline downloads and unlimited streams.

If you subscribe to any of the other streaming services – Hulu Live TV, Sling TV, AT&T TV Now, etc – you can still watch in 4K by using your TV Everywhere credentials in the Fox Sports or Fox Now app.

It’s not real 4K

Similar to last year, the games are not actually shot in 4K. So you’re not getting real 4K here. Instead, the games are produced natively in 1080p 60fps HLG and then gets up-converted to 4K 60fps. So it’s shot in 1080p HDR and then delivered to you via a 4K feed. It’s still going to look super crisp and clear, but it’s not true 4K, unfortunately.
