Galaxy A13 5G Leaked In High-Res Renders, Detailed Specs Revealed

Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy A13 5G as its new budget 5G king. The phone will likely hit the market in early 2022, taking the crown as Samsung’s cheapest 5G smartphone from the Galaxy A22 5G launched earlier this year. It appeared in a benchmark listing on Geekbench last week, revealing its processor details. Now we have the first renders, as well as detailed specs, of the phone courtesy of @OnLeaksand Zouton.

Galaxy A13 5G: leaked specifications and design

The leaked renders reveal that the Galaxy A13 5G will sport a triple camera setup at the back. It’s a combination of a 50-megapixel (f/2.0) primary camera, a 5-megapixel (f/2.2) ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) depth sensor. There’s no camera bump on this phone. Instead, each sensor individually protrudes out of the back panel. The LED flash sits just beside the vertically aligned camera array.

On the front, the device features a 6.48-inch IPS LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2340 pixels). A V-shaped notch at the center houses the front-facing camera for selfies and video calls but we don’t have its spec details.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A13 has a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage. It packs a 5000 mAh that charges at up to 25W speeds. This is impressive for a budget Android smartphone from Samsung. But, disappointingly, the device will run Android 11 out of the box even though it is not expected to come out until next year. Hopefully, it will get the Android 12 update soon.

Taking about its build quality and design, the Galaxy A13 5G expectedly gets a plastic frame. It has the power button and the volume rockers on the right side. The latter also includes a capacitive fingerprint scanner. The bottom edge houses a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, a microphone, and a down-firing speaker. There’s a secondary microphone at the top, while the SIM tray resides on the left.

The Galaxy A13 5G will reportedly measure 164.5 x 76.5 x 8.9mm in dimension. The device will reportedly be available in black, red, white, and blue color options.

Price and launch date

The Galaxy A13 5G was first spotted in development back in August before appearing in a benchmark listing last week. But this is the first major leak concerning the upcoming affordable 5G smartphone from Samsung. So there’s likely some time to go before it is official. The handset will succeed the Galaxy A12 launched in December 2020. So we expect Samsung to unveil the Galaxy A13 5G towards the end of this year or in early 2022.

As for pricing, the Galaxy A12 debuted at around $180 in the US. While it would have been reasonable for its successor to cost about the same or slightly more thanks to 5G connectivity, the new report suggests the Galaxy A13 5G will come significantly costlier at $290. But we suspect this pricing is accurate as that wouldn’t make the phone any cheaper than the Galaxy A22 5G. We are expecting the Galaxy A13 5G to launch at around $200. Things should get clearer as more reports emerge over the next few months.
