The Samsung Galaxy S22 has appeared in multiple leaks so far, including unofficial renders. A new leak today is offering more information on some of these leaked renders.
According to well-known tipster IceUniverse on Twitter (via), the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ will have flat back and front panels with symmetrical bezels. This means the two phones will have fairly similar design attributes as the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+.
IceUniverse goes as far as saying that the two devices look similar to the iPhone 13 lineup barring the notch. The indication here is that these two phones could have flat sides as well. However, other rumors and leaks suggest rounded edges on all three models of the lineup.
The source also offered some interesting details on the camera of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, so it has been a pretty good day for Galaxy S22 leaks so far. Given that we’re still three to four months away from the release of this new flagship lineup, there could be more to come in the coming weeks.
A separate leak also revealed the camera features of the Galaxy S22 Ultra
As is the case with most early leaks, we’ve also come across conflicting reports regarding hardware aspects, including the camera. The most recent leak claims that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 108-megapixel primary sensor backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor and two 10-megapixel sensors with 10x and 3x optical zoom.
Meanwhile, there’s little ambiguity about aspects like the CPU of the Galaxy S22 lineup. Some variants of the new flagship series will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898, while others will run on the Exynos 2200 chipset with an integrated AMD GPU (RDNA2). This has expectedly generated quite a bit of hype, though we’re yet to see how it fares in real-world conditions.
The big question surrounding the launch of the Galaxy S22 is still lingering. Initial reports pegged the phone to release by January 2022. However, we later learned that the company could delay the release of the new flagship by at least a month. It is also reported that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S21 FE in January.
It’s worth noting that the Galaxy S21 FE was initially scheduled to launch with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 in August. However, the global chip shortage meant that the manufacturer had to delay its release significantly.
