According to the latest Amazon announcement, the Chinese video-focused social networking app TikTok is now available for Fire TV customers. Of course, the feature is now just available for Fire TV devices in the United States and Canada. Amazon has also promised to bring the app to Echo Show devices.
The most significant benefit of adding TikTok to Fire TV is that users don’t need to reach their phones to watch videos. They just need to say “Alexa, open TikTok” to access the latest videos on the app.
“TikTok is a household staple in our home, and I’m thrilled the whole family can now enjoy their favorite TikTok videos together on the best screen in the house with TikTok on Fire TV,” said Daniel Rausch, Vice President, Amazon Entertainment Devices and Services.
Amazon has recently added a bunch of cool features to Fire TV devices. They revamped the interface last year, and just a few months ago, video calling was added to the Fire TV. Moreover, Pioneer is going to launch new Fire TVs.
How Fire TV users can access TikTok
There’s a simple process for Fire TV users to download and use TikTok on their devices. To reach TikTok, they just need to visit the App Store to download the app and sign in to their account to view the feed. Tons of videos are available at the ‘For You,’ ‘Following,’ and ‘Discover page’ sections.
Moreover, thanks to the AutoPlay feature, hassle-free, and continuous video watching is possible. According to Amazon, users can even control videos through Alexa Voice Remote for commands like Play or Pause.
Bringing a popular video-sharing app to Fire TV devices is a part of Amazon’s plans to stoke interest in its products and enrich the user’s experience. As Rausch says, “We love to pull up TikTok hands-free on our Fire TV Omni Series by just asking, ‘Alexa, play TikTok.’ We can’t wait to hear how our customers are enjoying the latest dance craze or viral trends with their families.”
