Xiaomi CEO Promises MIUI 13 Debut Before The End Of The Year

Xiaomi’s MIUI 13 will debut before the end of the year, it seems. This information comes directly from the company’s CEO, Lei Jun. He claims that the company is working hard to deliver MIUI 13, and it will do so by the end of 2021.

Xiaomi’s MIUI 13 will debut before the end of this year, but it’s coming to China first

One thing to note, though, is that the Chinese version of MIUI 13 will land first. That probably means that global variants won’t get this update until next year. We’re only guessing, though.

MIUI 13 is expected to bring a revamped UI to the table, and a number of new features and improvements. Some details did surface, but not many of them, so we’re still waiting to get more information.

One feature that was mentioned is a floating window for games. The memory fusion technology and a layered rendering system were also mentioned. So, Xiaomi seems to be getting ready to bring virtual RAM to the table as well.

You can expect new animations, fonts, privacy options, and more

New animations, fonts, redesigned app icons, and an improved notification panel are also expected to be a part of this update. On top of all of that, we’ll probably get some more privacy options.

Xiaomi will likely include some new wallpapers to the table, along with new AOD themes. That is basically per course for every major update from the company, so chances are the same will be the case with MIUI 13.

Xiaomi’s MIUI skin is actually really compelling these days. It wasn’t the best back in the day, but much like other major Chinese smartphone OEMs, Xiaomi upped its game a lot. MIUI, Funtouch, and ColorOS are all really compelling offerings these days.

Chances are that more details regarding MIUI 13 will surface in the coming weeks, unless Xiaomi manages to keep things under wraps. Some screenshots usually leak, along with details regarding features, so… we’ll see if the same will happen this year.
