The OnePlus 10 Pro has been the talk of the town lately, as far as OnePlus is concerned. Following its debut in China last week, the device is now nearing its global launch. Meanwhile, the Chinese brand is also working on a new mid-range phone under its Nord series. The phone could arrive either as OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G or OnePlus Nord 2 CE 5G. While we wait for a confirmation on the name, some information about the device has leaked online.
According to @TechInsiderBlog on Twitter, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 (name not official) will be available in Bahama Blue and Gray Mirror colors, at least. Also, one of its variants will come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Prior leaks suggest OnePlus will also offer the phone in 6GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB memory configurations.
While the latest leak doesn’t reveal anything else about the OnePlus Nord CE 2, we know more about it thanks to prior leaks. A report in early December 2021 claimed that the upcoming OnePlus mid-ranger will sport a 6.4-inch flat AMOLED display with a fullHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device is also said to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 will reportedly get MediaTek’s Dimensity 900 SoC, which is a 6nm chipset featuring two Cortex-A78 cores operating at up to 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2GHz. The phone has three cameras on the back. There’s a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The front-facing camera is a 16-megapixel sensor.
Other key specs include a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast wired charging, Android 12-based software, a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, 5G cellular connectivity, dual SIM support, microSD card slot, and NFC. We expect to hear more about this phone in the coming weeks.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G could go official next month
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G will arrive as the successor to the original OnePlus Nord CE that launched in June 2021. However, the new model could go official much ahead of that with recent reports suggesting a February launch. The device has already picked up a few important certifications. It was also recently spotted on the company’s official website. All these developments suggest we are getting closer to its unveiling. We will keep you posted.
Meanwhile, the OnePlus 10 Pro will reportedly launch in India and Europe by the end of March this year. There’s no word yet on the new OnePlus flagship’s availability in the US though.
