You Can Flash ZIP Files Right On Your Phone With Magic ToolFlash

There are some apps and software versions that you can’t get on your device through the Play Store or OTA. This is where flashing files onto your device comes in. Flashing files usually requires having a computer, but what if you want to forego the computer. Well, you can flash ZIP files right onto your phone with the Magic ToolFlash application and leave out the computer.

Magic ToolFlash can make flashing ZIP files easier

A lot of tech-savvy people like to root and unlock their devices. Doing so will break down walls that were pre-built into the software. Avid rooters should be familiar with command prompts and the device’s root menu. If you’re used to these things, then Magic ToolFlash will feel just like home. This app was created by XDA senior member huskydg.

You can use this app to install ZIP packages onto your device, and it creates an isolated namespace. While this app does make things easier, there are some things you’ll need to look out for. For starters, this app can not be used to flash different versions of Android onto your phone.

When you use the app, just know that the /tmp directory doesn’t exist in the Android root filesytem. Thus, in order for things to go smoothly, you might need to change the updater script and use a temporary directory called /dev/tmp.

Also, know that if the target ZIP files contain a hardcoded /sbin command, then it might not work on versions of Android from 11 on. If you’re interested in using this application, click here to go to the GitHub.
