Google is Opening its second physical Store In Brooklyn, Next Month

Google opened its first-ever physical retail store in the borough of Manhattan last year, and now it’s looking to move over to another one of New York City’s five boroughs next month. That would be Brooklyn.

Google is opening its first of its “neighborhood stores” in Williamsburg on June 16. It’ll be located at 134 N 6th Street in Williamsburg. It’ll offer a lot of the same hands-on experiences with its products and services as its flagship store in Chelsea does.

What is a “Neighborhood store”?

This is the first neighborhood store for Google, so what exactly is it? Well, it’s basically the same as the flagship store, but in a more intimate setting. This is likely going to be the first of many neighborhood stores that Google opens up over the coming years.

There will be places where you can try out demos of different products and services from Google. Like the Nest Audio, or the Pixel 6. As well as be able to pick up your pre-order, like a traditional retail store.

Google says that in the Williamsburg store you will find an installation by Brooklyn-based artist Olalekan Jeyifous. Google says their work “examines the relationships between architecture, community and the environment”. Google also notes that they will also be hosting local events to celebrate Brooklyn, like guided walks around the neighborhood where you can try out Pixel photography features.

You can think of these Google Stores as something similar to the Apple Store, but with Google products. It’s set up pretty similarly, though Google does also have a lot of fun and quirky things set up in their store. So it’s a fun place to visit, even if you don’t need to buy anything. But if you do, there’s a Grab & Go wall, where you can pick up a Pixel smartphone, a Nest Audio, Nest Hub Max among many other things.
