YouTube Music Now Supports Casting To Favorite Speakers

YouTube Music has added a new casting feature that allows users to find the nearby speakers and cast music to them, The Verge reports.

The Google-owned music streaming app has been through serious changes in recent months and has added some practical features. One of the newly added features is the ability to cast music to speakers. As the music streaming market is flourishing, Google is also trying to stoke interest in its YouTube Music and turn it into a direct competitor of Spotify.

ChromeUnboxed has spotted the feature, saying a “Suggested” device is added above the standard alphabetical list. Google actually monitors the frequency of use of the devices and then suggests a device used most. In this case, the ChromeUnboxed author has used his bathroom speaker most, and you can see his bathroom speaker has appeared in the Suggested section.

According to Google spokesperson Paul Pennington, suggestions are based upon usage, history, and the type of device.

This feature can bring many benefits, particularly for those who use multiple speakers and smart home devices. This way, you don’t need to search between a long list of devices, and the most used device is easily accessible.

YouTube Music casting to your favorite speakers is now available

The feature is now available for both Android and iOS devices. If you are using YouTube Music, check for the latest updates to access the feature. Of course, don’t forget that you should be a YouTube Music subscriber for casting music from the app to an external device.

Google seems to care a lot about casting from phones to external devices. It’s even trying to redesign the casting pathway for a better experience. At the I/O Developer conference this year, the company announced that users can now cast audio from their phones to their Chromebooks.

At Google I/O 2021, Google also had wonderful news for smartwatch owners. YouTube Music is finally coming to Wear OS later this year.
