Some Steam Deck Reservations Have Been Pushed Up To September

Valve’s Steam Deck is blazing towards consumers at an ever-rapid pace, as the company just announced that some Q4 reservations may be shipping early. Valve has been working what seems like tirelessly to get its handheld gaming PC into the hands of buyers. And in what is now at least Valve’s third or fourth production ramp up, the Steam Deck is being made faster than ever. The company states in a post on the official Steam Deck twitter that users may want to watch their emails.

Because there’s a chance you may have been bumped. No, not bumped from the list. Rather, your reservation may have been bumped up. Q4 reservations for the Steam Deck wouldn’t have started to ship until at least October. And shipments would last through the end of the year.

However, because Valve continues to crank out these machines quicker and quicker, it’s blowing through reservation shipments.

Some Q4 reservations for the Steam Deck may ship by the end of September

According to Valve, some reservation holders that may have been in the Q4 window may now be in Q3. Which means your Steam Deck may show up on your door step before the end of next month. It’s important to temper your expectations though. Valve isn’t saying that all Q4 reservations have been bumped up to the Q3 window. And there will almost certainly be a hefty chunk of people who are still not getting their Decks until sometime in Q4.

Nevertheless, there’s about a week left in August and a whole 31 days left in September. So if you were originally in the October to December window, make sure to keep an eye on your inbox to purchase the Steam Deck throughout all of next month.

Additionally, with Q4 Steam Deckers being bumped up to Q3, ultimately the remaining people in Q4 will be bumped up to earlier in Q4. And in turn people that weren’t getting one until 2023, may be bumped up to Q4. So things are moving faster all around and that’s a win-win for both Valve and those with reservations.
