If you’re using your calendar a lot, but you’re trying to keep things minimal, the CalenTile app may interest you. This application basically puts your calendar events in a Quick Settings tile on your phone.
CalenTile app utilizes your phone’s Quick Settings to show you your next calendar event
First and foremost, CalenTile is not free. It costs $0.99, but that’s a small price to pay if you need a feature like this. It will remove the need for a calendar widget, so that you can keep your home screen clean.
Using it is really simple. Once you install the app, you’ll need to edit your Quick Settings. Drag the Next Events CalenTile tile there, and you’re good to go. You’ll also need to grant it permission to read your calendar, of course.
There you go, you’ve set it up. Now, whenever you swipe down to see your Quick Settings, you’ll have a CalenTile tile there, showing you the next meeting on the agenda. Simple.
You can even use it to check other calendar events that are coming up
That’s not where the story ends, though. You can tap that tile, and you’ll get a nice little pop-up at the bottom of your phone’s display. It will open your next event in a very simple UI, and allow you to see other events that are coming up. You can also open your calendar from this pop-up.
One would think such a tile would be included on your phone by default, but it’s not. Luckily, CalenTile works great, and that’s all that matters. If spending a dollar to get the app is not a problem, this may be useful to you.
People seem to really love it, as it’s currently holding a 4.9-star rating in the Google Play Store. Not many people know about it, it seems, as it has over 500 downloads thus far, so somewhere between 500 and 1,000.
