Honkai: Star Rail will hold its final closed beta next month

Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse is holding the final closed beta for its upcoming game, Honkai: Star Rail in early February, and registration is open right now for anyone who wants to sign up.

As with really any other closed beta, registration only gets you a chance to participate and does not guarantee you a spot. But there’s no reason not to sign up if you’re interested in checking out the game early. Honkai: Star Rail is basically Genshin Impact in space. Ok, so that’s a gross oversimplification. But the two games are fairly similar in that they’re both open-world RPG games. Both have an anime art style (naturally), and both will have a vast collection of characters players can acquire.

The main difference here is the theme. Where Genshin Impact is heavily fantasy-based, Honkai: Star Rail is futuristic sci-fi. Although, HoYoverse does categorize Honkai: Star Rail as a “space fantasy rpg.” However you want to categorize it, the game will be a large open-world RPG with plenty to do. It will also feature a “turn-based combat system, maze explorations, and puzzle-solving gameplay,” says HoYoverse.

The final closed-beta for Honkai: Star Rail begins on February 10

There’s a little over two weeks to go before the beta starts. And if you haven’t signed up yet, you can do so from the game’s official website here. Even if you don’t get into the beta, there are other benefits to signing up. Just like it did with Genshin Impact, HoYoverse is handing out all kinds of pre-registration rewards. These will be added to each player’s account once the game officially launches.

In the final closed beta, players will get to explore two of the game’s major locations – Jarilo-VI and Xianzhou Luofu. Additionally, the final closed beta will include a host of new features that weren’t in previous tests. Such as co-op mode, photo mode, companion missions and more.
