The HONOR Magic5 is the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone series. Well, the HONOR Magic5 did just get certified, while a separate leak revealed that the Magic5 phones will pack some serious camera hardware.
The HONOR Magic5 will feature compelling camera hardware & Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
First and foremost, it’s worth saying that the HONOR Magic5 did get certified over at China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) under a PGT-AN00 model number. That listing did not reveal any specs, though, but it’s one of the Magic5 smartphones.
Now, in a separate leak, a well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station, did share some camera info. Before we get to it, however, do note that three models are expected, the Magic5, Magic5 Pro, and Magic5 Ultimate. The Magic5 Lite is also a possibility. This is based on previous launches from HONOR.
That being said, the tipster said that the Pro and Ultimate models will ship with a quad 50-megapixel camera setup. There is a chance that some devices end up sporting a 64-megapixel camera sensor.
100x camera zoom is expected on some models
At least two devices from the series, the Pro and Ultimate models, will utilize a periscope telephoto camera. You can expect a 100x zoom to be available via that camera.
The HONOR Magic5, Magic5 Pro, and Magic5 Ultimate are all tipped to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The HONOR Magic5 Lite, on the flip side, may feature the Snapdragon 695 SoC.
You can expect a 120Hz display on these devices, along with PWM dimming and IP68 certification. That goes for the first three devices, at the very least, but the ‘Lite’ variant may include something similar. Android 13 is also expected.
Rumors are saying that the Magic5 series will debut on February 27. The company still did not confirm anything, however. Do note that these phones will launch in China first. They are expected to make their way to global markets, though, at least some models.
