iOS 17 details surface, don't expect big visual changes

Apple is expected to release iOS 17 alongside the iPhone 15 series this year, and some details have just surfaced. The report states that iOS 17 won’t bring a big visual overhaul or anything of the sort.

iOS 17 details have surfaced, confirming minor visual changes

The source states that iOS 17 will most likely look identical to iOS 16, basically. Apple will focus on stability and efficiency in the new update. On top of that, another focus will be supporting Apple’s Reality Pro AR/VR headset.

So, you can expect a brand new app in iOS 17, dedicated to that headset. The Home app will get a revamp with “major changes”, while the Find My app will get minor “tweaks”.

The Music app was also mentioned, as it will get some changes mostly related to navigation. The Mail app will be simplified “a bit”, while Reminders and Files are also looking at some improvements. No details were revealed regarding the last two apps. Some minor changes are expected for Fitness and Wallet apps.

All iPhone 15 models will feature a Dynamic Island

Now, the report also states that iOS 17 is built to run on six devices with Dynamic Island. That, once again, confirms that all iPhone 15 units will feature a Dynamic Island up top. The notch will become a part of iPhone’s history later this year.

iOS 17 code states that all four upcoming iPhones will have a USB-C port. That is also something we expected. It was reported before, and due to the EU ruling, Apple is kind of forced to offer it. Do note that only two phones will support USB 3.2 speeds, presuming the ‘Pro’ and ‘Ultra’ (Pro Max) models.

The last piece of information has to do with the iPhone 15 Ultra aka Pro Max, it remains to be seen what name will Apple use. That phone is said to come with “more advanced” image processing, and a better cooling system. So Apple is looking to differentiate between its top models this time around.
