Retailer prematurely starts selling the Galaxy S23 Ultra

Slated to go official on February 1, Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series may not be available for purchase at a nearby store until at least a couple of weeks later. Leaks have suggested that sales will begin on February 17, though you can pre-order the devices immediately after launch. But a retailer in Matagalpa, Nicaragua may have jumped the gun and started selling the Galaxy S23 Ultra early. A local retailer called KM CELL STORE recently posted on its Facebook page that it has the 12GB+256GB variant of the phone in all four colors available for immediate delivery.

The Facebook post, which now seems to have been deleted, contained multiple photos showing the retail boxes for the Galaxy S23 Ultra in four different colors. It even had the pink-colored unit unboxed. The retailer didn’t share the pricing details but the photos appear to be authentic. After deleting the Facebook post, they shared another photo of the phone in a Facebook Story, which Android Headlines saw (screenshot below). Maybe Samsung blocked the retailer from selling the phones early and directed it to take down the post. Either way, it’s another indication of a nearing Galaxy S23 launch.

Galaxy S23 Ultra leaks have left little to the imagination

Samsung‘s Galaxy S23 series has been subject to a mountain of leaks over the past couple of months. These leaks have left little to the imagination about the new Galaxy flagships. We already know the detailed specs and design of phones, as well as their alleged US pricing. Rumors are that the devices will retain the pricing structure of their respective predecessors, which is impressive considering all the upgrades you’re getting.

The design of new Samsung flagships doesn’t change much over the 2022 models. The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ no longer have the contour-cut camera bump and that’s about it. Pretty much everything else remains the same. The Galaxy S22 Ultra already didn’t have a camera bump last year, so its successor looks even more identical than those of the smaller two models.

However, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy S23 Ultra with a 200MP primary camera this year. The selfie camera also has a new and improved 12MP sensor. While the rest of the camera hardware is unchanged, we’re expecting quality improvements. The new phones also get brighter screens, larger batteries, a better under-display fingerprint scanner, and several other notable upgrades. Stay tuned for the official launch on February 1.
