Today, Samsung is rolling out some new features to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and the Galaxy Watch 5 series, which will allow you to better capture the world around you.
First up is 360 Audio Recording for the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. Through a software update, you’ll be able to record video using your earbuds. Giving you realistic audio for the video that your Galaxy smartphone is recording. That’s all without using any bulky professional equipment. The buds are able to pick up 360-degree sound using a microphone in each earbud. This places viewers at the center of a roaring festival crowd or beside a bubbling brook in the middle of a forest.
Samsung is touting that the 360 Audio Recording feature is the first feature in the Galaxy line using LE Audio. Which is a new advanced Bluetooth audio standard. It’s going to be able to provide better audio quality as well as better latency and battery life.
This will only be available on the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Use your Galaxy Watch 5 to control the camera
Another feature that Samsung is rolling out today is Camera Controller. It’s going to be available for the Galaxy Watch 4 series and Galaxy Watch 5 series.
Camera Controller is exactly what it sounds like. It allows you to control your camera on your smartphone from your wrist. This makes shooting TikToks, taking selfies and so much more, a whole lot easier. Especially when you’re alone. What’s actually new in this update is the zoom capability. You can pinch in and out to zoom in and out on the camera on your phone.
Samsung says that the Camera Controller update will be available on the Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, Galaxy Watch 4, and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic starting in February. Samsung will talk more about this feature at Unpacked on February 1.
