Samsung unveils new Bespoke Kitchen appliances at CES 2023

Samsung has updated its Bespoke Kitchen lineup. The company unveiled new kitchen appliances, including the Bespoke AI Oven and Bespoke 4 Door Flex refrigerator, at CES 2023. It also introduced an updated version of its SmartThings Cooking service. The Korean firm touts these products to support you at every stage of the cooking process.

Samsung launches new SmartThings-powered Bespoke kitchen appliances

According to Samsung, its new Bespoke 4 Door Flex refrigerator is your joint head chef. Powered by its Family Hub+ platform, this fridge comes with a 32-inch display that lets you control a host of cooking-related functions and multi-task across those. You essentially get comprehensive control over all your kitchen appliances here. You can check the meal preparation process, monitor the cooking progress, and receive updates from connected appliances. This is in addition to all the existing capabilities of its Bespoke refrigerators.

When not serving you as your “joint head chef,” this Bespoke refrigerator can be your TV. You can watch hundreds of shows across nearly 200 Samsung TV Plus channels for free. Perhaps it can be your entertainment source while you take manual control of your kitchen. And should you need to quickly check a recipe or the progress on a connected device, picture-in-picture (PIP) support keeps the show playing in a floating window. This refrigerator can also keep track of your pantry stock and let you order items from the Amazon Your Essentials app with a single click.

The Bespoke AI Oven, meanwhile, helps you in the cooking process itself. It can automatically optimize the cooking settings based on what you put inside. The oven can recognize more than different dishes and ingredients (80 for US models) and provide you with easy-to-follow cooking instructions for those. You can also select cooking presets like Full Steam, Air Fry, and Sous Vide. And thanks to SmartThings integration, you can remotely monitor and control the progress on your phone, or the refrigerator display. It will notify you when the dish is ready.

“Whether you’re trying to cook the perfect steak, bake a centerpiece cake, or simply air fry vegetables to the perfect temperature, Samsung Cooking and the intelligent features of your connected Samsung appliances can take the stress out of any cooking endeavor,” the company says.

SmartThings Cooking will help maintain healthy eating habits

While the new kitchen appliances can already assist you in your cooking endeavor, what they can’t do is suggest what to eat. This is where Samsung’s SmartThings Cooking comes into play. It can be your personal nutritionist. Simply sync the service with Samsung Health and it will obtain the necessary information such as your Body Mass Index (BMI) and daily activity data to provide customized meal suggestions. You get personalized recipes designed to your taste, while also helping you meet your health goals.

These recipe suggestions also consider what ingredients you have available in your fridge. You don’t have to wait for new items to arrive to prepare a healthy meal. Thanks to a community feature, you can also discover thousands of different recipes from all around the world. As Samsung puts it, “SmartThings Cooking is every home chef’s dream automated assistant.”
