Steam's new DLC Discovery Hub makes it easy to find game add-ons

Valve today is launching a new feature for Steam called the DLC Discovery Hub. This feature is a new Steam Labs Experiment which means while it’s here now, it may not always be. Steam Labs is a way for Valve to experiment with new features. These can be anything from the DLC Discovery Hub launched today to new machine learning features for Steam.

After Valve pushes them out to users, it encourages them use and share these experimental features as well as break them if they can. Valve then asks users to share their feedback so it can learn what the community likes. This way it can determine whether or not an experimental feature is worth keeping. With that in mind, it’s very possible that down the line Valve may decide that the DLC Discovery Hub isn’t something worth keeping. For now though, it’s available and it definitely seems like a cool feature.

The DLC Discovery Hub for Steam makes it easier to find add-ons for the games you play

Steam is a vast library of games from every genre. Or just about every genre. And many of those titles have DLC content available. While we wouldn’t recommend trying to pick up every DLC for every single game in your personal library, some of the content is great and definitely worth the purchase.

If however, your personal library of games on Steam is a huge collection, it might be hard to keep track of which games have DLC. This is where the DLC Discovery Hub comes in handy. It’s personalized to every user and showcases available add-ons for their games. At the very top, you’ll see how many games are in your library, as well as how many DLC add-ons you have and how many are available.

Below that, you can see “popular DLC” from a mix of games. These highlight the most popular DLC for games that you play. It won’t all necessarily be for games that you have played within the last few days. Some of it will be for games you might not have touched in quite some time. But every highlight will be DLC that is getting the most traction with other players.

Below the popular section, Steam lets you view DLC for games that you have played most recently. These are listed in order of the games you played most recently first. For instance, the game I played most recently on Steam was Destiny 2. So this is the first game in the list for me. Below that is Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II. If you prefer, you also have the option to show DLC for games that you have played the most first. So whatever games you’re spending the most time in will be highlighted in order.

The DLC Discovery Hub is live now and if you want to check it out for yourself you can find it here.
