Twitter Blue is now a thing again, and people are able to enjoy the benefits of the services. The $8 price tag ($11 for iOS users) doesn’t sit well with most people. Well, if you’re looking for a bit of a discount, then you’d be happy to know that Twitter Blue now has a yearly plan that will save you just a bit of money.
Twitter has had a ROUGH 2022, with the last couple of months being extremely chaotic. A lot of that chaos centered around Twitter’s premium membership Twitter Blue. Under the command of billionaire Elon Musk, Twitter Blue had become a bit of a joke with a 60% higher price tag. However, the winds have finally calmed a bit for Twitter, so the company is moving forward with Twitter Blue.
Twitter Blue now has a yearly plan
This news comes to us from the Twitter Blue support page (via Engadget). The page shows you how much it costs to sign up on the web and with your phone/tablet. If you live in the US, UK, Australia, Japan, Canada, or New Zealand, you can see how much it will cost you.
At the end of the table, we see the prices for the new yearly Twitter Blue plan. In the US, it costs $84, £84.00 GBP (UK), $105.00 CAD (Canada), $135.00 AUD (Australia), $135.00 NZD (New Zealand), and ¥10,280 JPY (Japan).
So, let’s do a little math; 84÷12= 7. This means that if you get the yearly plan, it equates to paying $7/month. That’s a 12.5% discount from the monthly price.
What perks do you get?
Whether you think that the price is worth it, you get some perks with a Twitter Blue plan. Bookmark folders let people organize their bookmarked tweets into custom folders. There are Custom App Icons and Custom Themes that let you add different colors to the app.
You’re able to upload much longer videos with this subscription. The video can be up to 60 minutes long and up to 2GB in size.
If you’re a big reader, you’ll have access to the Top Articles Shortcut. This will take you directly to the highest-ranked articles in your network. Also, there’s the reader. This feature takes long threads of tweets and turns them into a long interrupted feed.
The most controversial addition to Twitter Blue is the prioritized ranking. This will give your tweets an algorithmic boost so that people will be able to see your stuff easier.
Lastly, a Twitter Blue subscription gives you the ability to undo your tweets. When you post a tweet, you’ll have the ability to quickly retract it before it hits the public.
