Xiaomi 13 Lite is coming with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 & familiar design

It seems like Xiaomi plans to launch the Xiaomi 13 Lite after all. The phone surfaced on the Google Play Console, and that listing gives us a good idea as to what to expect. Do note that the phone will likely launch during MWC 2023, along with the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro.

The Xiaomi 13 Lite design is kind of surprising

The phone’s design appeared at the Google Play Console, along with some of the phone’s specs. That’s not all, though. The device is codenamed ‘Ziyi’, which actually matches the Xiaomi Civi 2. What’s interesting is that the linked image looks identical to the Xiaomi Civi 1S.

As you can see in the image provided above, the device is expected to feature a display camera hole, a centered one. Its bezels will be thin, and its display seemingly curved. Three cameras are visible on the back.

What’s interesting is that the Xiaomi 13 Lite is expected to feature a curved display, while the regular model has a flat display. The Xiaomi 13 Pro, on the flip side, includes a curved panel. How do we know that? Well, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro already launched in China last month. They will launch globally next month, quite possibly during MWC 2023 in Barcelona.

The phone will include the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC

In any case, some specs of the phone are mentioned in the listing. The device will include a fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) panel, while the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will fuel the device. The listing also mentions that the Xiaomi 13 Lite will include 8GB of RAM.

Android 12 is mentioned as pre-installed software, though the phone will likely ship with Android 13 by the time it gets released. It’s still a bit surprising that this phone looks like the Xiaomi Civi 1S, but perhaps that’s the design Xiaomi will go with.

As a reminder, the Xiaomi Civi 2 has a pill-shaped cutout on the display, and it looks a bit different than the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. On the flip side, the specs of this phone are more in line with the Xiaomi Civi 2. It’s all a bit confusing, we’ll have to wait and see what is Xiaomi planning.
