Destiny 2: Beyond Light hits PlayStation Plus this month

Sony has revealed the games coming to PlayStation Plus for the month of February, and it includes Destiny 2: Beyond Light. The second most recent expansion to Bungie’s looter shooter that’s currently available. The base game of Destiny 2 went free-to-play a little over three years ago in October of 2019. But the free-to-play content only includes the base game. If you want to dive into a lot of the content like raids, dungeons, and additional story missions, you need to the purchase the expansion they’re associated with.

In this case, though, PlayStation Plus subscribers are going to be getting the Beyond Light expansion for free. Which means they’ll have access to the Deep Stone Crypt raid, Empire Hunts, new exotic gear, and much, much more. Normally the expansion would cost you $29.99. So this is a pretty sweet addition. And it’s a great way to get more players to check out the game before the new Lightfall expansion releases on February 28.

PlayStation Plus subscribers also get a total of four games to claim for free this month as opposed to three.

In addition to Beyond Light, PlayStation Plus subscribers get three more games

Beyond Light is a huge get, but it’s also one of four games being added for subscribers in February. More often than not, Sony adds just three titles. So any month where there’s additional titles makes subscribing a better value. In addition to Beyond Light, Sony is also adding Evil Dead: The Game, Olli Olli World, and Mafia Definitive Edition.

On top of that all of the games, save for Mafia, are available as both PS4 and PS5 versions. If you’re excited about this month’s games, you’ll have to wait a little longer to claim them. New PlayStation Plus games always drop on the first Tuesday of the month. That means subscribers can look forward to claiming these four titles once they hit the service on February 7. That also leaves one more week to claim the games for January, which includes Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Fallout 76, and Axiom Verge 2.

If you don’t already have PlayStation Plus, now is a great time to check it out between the January and February free titles.
