Fresh from the Galaxy S23 flagship launch, Samsung is now gearing up to open the floodgates for its 2023 mid-range and budget models. The Galaxy A54 5G is expected to arrive next month as the most powerful mid-range Galaxy smartphone this year. Ahead of the impending launch, a reliable tipster has revealed the phone’s colors and storage variants.
According to tipster SnoopyTech on Twitter, the Galaxy A54 5G will be available in 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB memory configurations. While last year’s Galaxy A53 5G offered the same two storage options, it also came in a 6GB RAM variant in some markets. It appears that will not be the case this year, though you never know. The tipster may only have information about a particular market. The handset should feature a microSD slot for expandable storage in case 128GB or even 256GB is not enough for you.
As for colors, Galaxy A54 5G buyers will reportedly have four options: Awesome White, Awesome Graphite, Awesome Lime, and Awesome Violet. Samsung is seemingly changing things here as well.
We got a white option last year too, but the other three colors are new this year. It isn’t known yet whether the Korean firm will stick to a plastic frame and back panel or upgrade to metal and glass solutions. These are the areas where Samsung cuts the cost to make the Galaxy A5x lineup its best-value smartphone every year. So there’s little hope.
Galaxy A54 5G rumored specs
Leaks and rumors about the Galaxy A54 5G have been coming for a few months now. We already know quite a lot about the upcoming mid-ranger. The handset will sport a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is a little wider this year with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
Under the hood, the phone is said to pack Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1380 processor. A 5,100mAh battery will fuel the device, which supports 25W fast wired charging. There’s no wireless charging here.
Samsung will likely equip the Galaxy A54 5G with a 50MP primary camera at the back, along with a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP macro camera. It should boast OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and 4K video recording support.
The 32MP front camera should also record 4K videos. Other highlights include an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, an under-display optical fingerprint scanner, and stereo speakers. We should hear more about the Galaxy A54 5G closer to its launch.
