Samsung unveiled three new powerful Galaxy Books during its latest Galaxy Unpacked event,(if you want a fast track to pre-order them, click here) and we’re all excited about them. If you’re a potential buyer, you’d want to know how these devices compare to each other, right? Well, here’s a comparison between all of the Galaxy Book 3 computers.
This comparison will focus on explaining the differences between these computers and which computers are best for which users. It will better help you decide which computer to buy if you’re planning on purchasing one.
As a refresher, there are four models of these computers. There’s the Galaxy Book 3 Pro, Galaxy Book 3 360, Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360, and Galaxy Book 3 Ultra. No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you; Samsung did not launch a regular Galaxy Book 3.
Galaxy Book 3 comparison: Display
There are two screen specifications across the devices. The model with the most subdued display tech is the Galaxy Book 3 360. This computer (in both 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch sizes) has an AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution. It’s not a Pro or Ultra model, so you can expect an average to good viewing experience. This computer gains points for having a touch display with S Pen compatibility (does not come in the box).
The rest of the computers all have a Dynamic 2x AMOLED display with a 3K resolution (2880 x 1800). They all run at 120Hz and have a peak brightness of 400nits. As you can guess, these will make for an incredible experience especially since these displays are also HDR-compatible. Just know that using these where there’s a lot of sunlight could be an issue.
Just like with the regular model, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 has a touch screen that’s compatible with the S Pen. The S Pen comes bundled with the Pro Model.
Galaxy Book 3 comparison: CPU/GPU
When it comes to processing power, the specs are pretty consistent. One thing to note is that the available chips will vary depending on the market. These are the processors available in the US market.
All models of this computer use the 13th-Gen Intel Core i7 processor. The only exception is the Ultra model. While this computer uses the Core i7, there’s also the option for the Core i9 as well.
In terms of the GPU, all models, except for the Ultra model, use Intel Iris X Graphics. The Ultra uses the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU. This means that you’ll be able to use the Ultra for some serious gaming.
Galaxy Book 3 comparison: RAM/storage
The RAM and storage specs are just like the processor specs: the Ultra model stands apart from the crowd. For starters, all four models use LPDDR 5 RAM and SSD storage.
The bottom three models come with 16GB of RAM and the choice between 521GB or 1TB of storage. With the Ultra model, the core i7 model comes with 16GB of RAM and the Core i9 model comes with 32GB. As for storage, you can choose between 512GB and 1TB of storage, and there’s actually an expansion slot.
Galaxy Book 3 comparison: Ports
When it comes to the ports, Samsung remained pretty consistent across all of the devices. The Galaxy Book 3 360 has a Thunderbolt 4 port, a USB-C port, a USB-A port, a microSD, an HDMI 1.4 port, and a headphone/microphone jack.
The rest of the computers all share a similar configuration. They come with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-C port, a USB-A port, a microSD, an HDMI 1.4 port (HDMI 2.0 for the Ultra model), and a headphone/microphone jack.
Galaxy Book 3 comparison: Battery
Most models actually have their own battery sizes. The smallest one is the 13.3-inch model of the Galaxy Book 3 360 (may not be available in the US), and it has a capacity of 61Wh. The 15.6-inch model has a 68Wh battery.
The Galaxy Book Pro 3 also has two sizes. The 14-inch model has a 63Wh battery and the 16-inch model has a 76Wh battery.
The Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 and the Ultra also have 76Wh batteries.
All of the computers have a charging speed of 65W with the exception of the Ultra model which has a whopping 100W charging speed. So, the Ultra model will charge about 53% faster than the Pro and the Pro 360 model. Actually, Samsung says that, with the Ultra, you’ll be able to get 55% battery on a 30-minute charge.
Galaxy Book 3 comparison: Speakers
This one’s an easy one. All of these computers come with a quad-speaker setup. It consists of two 5W woofers and two 2W tweeters. These are all AKG-tuned drivers that will deliver a powerful sound.
Galaxy Book 3 comparison: Price
There’s a wide range of prices for these computers. The prices will change depending on the size and RAM/storage configurations.
512GB storage | 1TB storage | |
Galaxy Book 3 Pro | $1149.99 for 14-inch $1249.99 for 16-inch | $1649.99 for 14-inch $1749.99 for 16-inch |
