iPhone 15 & 15 Plus may include a new camera bump

According to a new report, the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may include a new camera bump. This information comes from ShrimpApplePro, a well-known Apple insider. He shared the information via Twitter.

The iPhone 15 & 15 Plus models may end up featuring a new camera bump

Do note that this refers to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus only, not the ‘Pro’ models. Now, there could be two reasons for this. The first one is because the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are rumored to get the 48-megapixel main camera from the iPhone 14 Pro models. The other reason may be a planned design change to a rounded back, says GSM Arena.

These two phones are tipped to arrive later this year, along with the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max (and/or Ultra). The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are tipped to retain display sizes from current-gen models. In other words, they will feature 6.1 and 6.7-inch displays.

Both phones will get the Dynamic Island from the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models. A new design with 2.5D glass is also tipped, along with the Apple A16 Bionic chip that currently fuels the ‘Pro’ phones.

Both vanilla models will also ship with 6GB of RAM, it seems

Both vanilla iPhone 15 models are set to include 6GB of RAM, and a USB Type-C port. That port won’t offer faster speeds than the current-gen Lightning port, though, it seems.

We still don’t know what the new camera bump may look like, other than it may be rounder than one current one. It would be odd to see a different camera bump on vanilla and Pro models, though. Perhaps Apple is doing this on purpose, to differentiate them, as they’ll all include a Dynamic Island now.

According to a recent rumor, Apple may also limit the Type-C port on all iPhone 15 models. Accessories may have to be Apple certified in order to work, but that’s just a wild rumor at the moment.
