iPhone 15 Pro Max may feature an extremely bright display

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have the brightest displays around, as far as smartphones are concerned. These displays cap out at 2,000 nits. Well, the iPhone 15 Pro Max looks to beat that, as it’s rumored to feature an extremely bright display that goes up to 2,500 nits.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max may feature an extremely bright display, the brightest around

This information comes from ShrimpApplePro, a well-known Apple insider. He said that such a display may end up inside the iPhone 15 Pro Max, he was quite specific about the model. He did not mention the iPhone 15 Pro line, or the iPhone 15 Ultra, which is rumored.

Now, the tipster actually retweeted a tweet from Connor, who said that Samsung’s next-gen panel can reach 2,500 nits of brightness. The iPhone 15 series is expected to arrive in September this year.

Based on the tipster’s tweet, however, he doesn’t seem to be sure of this. So this is just a possibility at this point. The iPhone 15 Pro Max may not be the name of the phone at all, it may get rebranded to the iPhone 15 Ultra, based on some rumors. Another rumor claimed Apple is looking to change things even further in 2024, and launch both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, in addition to the iPhone 16 Ultra. One of those two rumors is most likely not accurate. It would be weird if the Pro Max gets rebranded in 2024, and then comes back next year.

The Galaxy S23 series, for comparison’s sake, goes up to 1,750 nits

In any case, the Galaxy S23 series launched quite recently, as many of you know. Three devices arrived, and they offer very bright displays, up to 1,750 nits. They’re still not on the level of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. Well, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will seemingly raise the bar even higher.

The irony here is, this is Samsung’s very own panel. As is the one that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are using. Granted, you probably don’t need a display that gets brighter than 1,750 nits. Still, it’s nice to have the option.
