Journey to the Savage Planet is out now on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, but it’s not just your run of the mill version. It’s the Employee of the Month Edition. Which means it comes with some extras and other things to get excited about.
The best part, though, is that anyone who already owned the regular version of the game, gets to upgrade to this one for free. And we’d say that’s a pretty good deal, considering other games have gone a different route. Requiring owners to buy the upgraded versions as well. But, that isn’t the case with Journey to the Savage Planet from 505 Games and Raccoon Logic. Rather, you only have to pay for it if you don’t yet own a standard edition copy.
The benefit there is that you still get everything included. That’s the base game of Journey to the Savage Planet, with support for native 4K or upscaled 4K on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Additionally it comes with support for up to 60 frames per second, an enhanced photo mode, and the Hot Garbage DLC.
If you haven’t already played this game and you’d like to, this is the way to play it. Especially for those who may have wanted to initially pick it up on Google’s now defunct Stadia service, where the game first landed.
Play Journey to the Savage Planet on PS5 or Xbox Series X with friends
Many games are better with friends, and things are no different here. You can play the Employee of the Month Edition with friends if you’re just picking it up on PS5. Though, you will both need to have PlayStation Plus if you want to play with each other online. The same is true with Xbox Series X, with you needing Xbox Live Gold to access to the 2-player co-op through online play.
The game is currently available for $29.99 on both platforms digitally. There is also a chance that price will come down some if you wait to pick it up on a sale at some point.
