We’re still reeling from Samsung’s recent Galaxy S23 announcement event. The new trio of devices is set to launch later this month and people are getting their pre-orders in fast. The only thing is that some people pre-ordering through T-Mobile have an issue. According to 9To5Google, some people are having their numbers transferred to unshipped Galaxy S23 units.
People affected by this issue are, understandably, upset about it. They’re putting in their pre-orders only to see that their numbers and service are being transferred to a phone that won’t be in their hands for several weeks. At the moment, it looks like it’s only affecting T-Mobile customers. Also, it’s happening with pre-orders for three models of the phone.
The companies know that unshipped Galaxy S23 units are being activated
According to the reports, people who order their phones through Samsung.com, but it might not be solely on the Korean tech giant. The Mobile Report gained an internal document from T-Mobile. It informs representatives that it’s aware of the issue.
Also, much to our relief, it informs them that this is not a case of fraud. That’s important because T-Mobile has been ground-zero to some major security breaches recently. So, the thought that this is due to bad actors isn’t unreasonable. However, that’s not the case in this situation.
In any case, T-Mobile and Samsung are working on fixing this issue. This is unfortunate, as it could halt pre-orders for the devices. Since this is only a T-Mobile problem, you should be good if you’re looking to get it under AT&T or Verizon.
