The Galaxy S23 is getting a change that’s for the better with its 100% recycled packaging. It isn’t a change that’s going to directly impact the user experience for people that buy the device. But it does help the environment. Since the Galaxy S23 comes with packaging that’s completely recycled, that means there should be less of the packaging that ends up in landfills. Which of course is a good thing.
Because that contributes to less waste. We only have one planet earth and it’s not replaceable like the boxes of Samsung’s latest phones are. So any efforts to help reduce the amount of waste go a long ways to help ensure a sustainable future.
Naturally, a recycled phone box might seem like a small thing. And in terms of size for a single box, it certainly is. But you have to remember that Samsung has and will manufacture and sell millions of these phones. And that’s a lot of unnecessary waste that Samsung is avoiding.
Recycled Galaxy S23 packaging is just Samsung’s latest sustainability effort
Using 100% recycled materials for the packaging of products is a great step towards a more sustainable future. That being said, this is only Samsung’s latest eco-conscious initiative. In September of last year the company announced a handful of things it would be doing to broaden its environmental strategy. This includes a dedicated effort to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
In addition to creating more energy-efficient products so consumers can live more sustainably. It all adds up. Especially when you consider Samsung’s years of past efforts. Back in 2020 Samsung highlighted some of its eco-management practices. Which included 3.8 million tons of globally collected waste product, 250 million tons of greenhouse gas reductions in the product use phase, and waste recycling rate of 95% at all Samsung locations.
The company has surely added to those numbers in the few years since. All that aside, if you’re passionate about sustainability and eco-friendly products, you should be able to feel good about picking up a Galaxy S23 as your latest phone.
