Xiaomi has announced a limited edition Hello Kitty smartphone. It basically gave one of its existing smartphones a makeover. This is the Xiaomi Civi 2, in a Hello Kitty costume.
Xiaomi announces a Hello Kitty smartphone, but you probably can’t get it
As many of you have immediately guessed, this phone got announced in China, Xiaomi’s domestic market. We’re almost positive that it won’t launch in any other markets, in case you were wondering.
In the images below, you can check out the design of the phone, and its retail box. This is a white-colored phone with pink accents. Hello Kitty characters are all over the back of the phone, along with the ‘Hello Kitty’ branding.
The retail box is red, but it has a huge Hello Kitty character on it as well. The box sure is easily noticeable, and the same can be said about this device as well. There are three cameras on the back of this phone, a flat display, and a pill-shaped camera cutout.

The specs are the same as on the regular Civi 2 handset. This Hello Kitty edition does come specced out. In other words, it includes the specs from the most expensive Civi 2 variant, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.
This smartphone features a 6.55-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is fueled by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. Android 12 comes out of the box, along with MIUI 13 on top of it.
A 50-megapixel main camera is backed by a 20-megapixel ultrawide unit. A 2-megapixel macro camera also sits on the back. Two 32-megapixel units are located on the front side of the phone.
A single speaker is included here, and an in-display fingerprint scanner (optical). A 4,500mAh battery is also included, and 67W wired charging supported.
This phone is already available to pre-order in China, and it costs CNY2,799 ($410).
